Garden of Prayer Youth Center's mission is to improve the well-being of at-risk children, adults, and families by providing educational and mental health services that places them on a pathway towards success.

Garden of Prayer believes in keeping families together by not only providing for kids within the community, but their families as well. "We are here for the community," said Kristi, Garden of Prayer Youth Center's Executive Assistant. Through group home services for teens and young adults, clinical therapy services for individuals, groups, and families, educational enrichment programs including after-school programs for children and teens, summer day camp, and job readiness training, performance and visual arts classes, parenting support classes, nutrition education classes, and Christian living classes.

With five locations, Garden of Prayer serves the Kankakee County area by helping to fill a need for youth and their families. These locations include their administrative office in Kankakee, a group home in Momence, the Jordan Community Center in Kankakee, a daycare center in Kankakee, and their new Safe Haven center in Aroma Park.

In 2016, Garden of Prayer opened Safe Haven to further their mission in supporting local children and their families. This new center houses their foster care program, early childhood education, daycare, and access to training classrooms. Vocational trainings will be the newest upcoming addition to Safe Haven, with programs in music (recording studio), barber/beautician schools, and more. Safe Haven is working to fill a gap in the community by serving youth, but also their families. By giving the youth a safe place to go, but also by providing resources and services to families in need.

This nonprofit really is a group that matters, and the dedication they have to serving our community is one of the reasons #LinkPointSupports Garden of Prayer Youth Center. To help Garden of Prayer further their mission and reach, please consider volunteering, donating, or becoming a sponsor!
